Privacy Policy

• Account & profile: your name, email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), organization, and role.
• Phone numbers: the mobile number you add in Settings so we can send alerts and accept farm-data messages over SMS and WhatsApp.
• Farm & herd data: the records you create — cows, milk yields, health and breeding events, feed, alerts, reports, and related notes.
• Messages you send us: the content of SMS/WhatsApp messages you send to our numbers (e.g. milk readings or health reports), which we process to record the corresponding farm data and reply to you.
• Device telemetry: readings sent by IoT devices you connect to your account.
• Payment information: when you buy a plan, course, or consult, our payment processor handles your card details. We receive confirmation of payment and never store full card numbers.
• Technical data: IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser type, and log data needed to operate and secure the service.

• Provide, maintain, and improve the herd-management and planning features.
• Send you operational alerts (e.g. health, vaccination, and breeding reminders) on the channels you enable.
• Record farm data you submit by SMS or WhatsApp and reply to confirm it.
• Process payments and unlock the features you purchase.
• Secure the service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

With your consent, we exchange messages with you over SMS (via Africa’s Talking) and WhatsApp (via the WhatsApp Business Platform provided by Meta):

• Opt-in: messaging is off until you add your phone number and enable SMS and/or WhatsApp alerts in Settings.
• Outbound: we send farm alerts to members whose role and settings opt them in.
• Inbound: when you text a record (e.g. a milk yield or a health report) to our number, we match your number to your account, store the record, and send a confirmation reply.
• Opt-out: you can turn messaging off at any time in Settings, or by removing your phone number. Standard carrier message and data rates may apply.

Message content is used only to operate these features. We do not use your WhatsApp or SMS content for advertising, and we do not sell it.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run Vache, under contract and only as needed:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Vercel — application hosting.
• Meta Platforms — WhatsApp Business Platform message delivery.
• Africa’s Talking — SMS delivery.
• Paystack — payment processing.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

We keep your account and farm records for as long as your account is active. Some operational data is pruned automatically — for example, resolved alerts after about a year and certain analytics logs sooner. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal or accounting obligations.

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and protected in our database by row-level security that scopes each record to your organization. Inbound webhooks are verified by cryptographic signature. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.

• Access, correct, or export your account and farm data.
• Delete your data by closing your account or contacting us.
• Opt out of SMS/WhatsApp messaging at any time in Settings.

Vache is a tool for farm businesses and is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
